We pretty much got everything that I really felt was essential done. We did cut back some this year though. I didn't do my usual holiday baking, we skipped our outdoor decorations, and we only put out some of our indoor decorations. We do have the tree up and decorated though and all of the presents wrapped and ready. And I sent my photo Christmas cards out like two days after Thanksgiving.
I totally cut back this year and had lots of help too. The only decorations we put up is our tree which instead of going out to the woods to hunt for and cut down- we bought from my fire house. I didnt do any lights outside, or any of the other interior decorations either. As for my other usual Holiday things- I had my mom help me tackle the Holiday baking and gift tins I give (colleagues, neighboors, fire dept family, mailman, ect), and I did ALL my shopping online! It was an easy Christmas, but I have to admit, Im not really in the Christmas spirit either and I think its because I slacked off so much. BUT, eye on the prize! Its all worth taking it easy for this miracle little girl I am carrying!
We definitely skimped this Christmas. DH put up our angel in the yard since our whole street does it. Then he put the poinsettas in the flower bed but otherwise, no lights outside. We normally do them together. We wouldn't have gotten a tree had it not been for his parents bringing over their fake one. Normally we go pick ours out, then we have a tree trimming party every year to decorate it but I was getting the cerclage put in so we had to cancel it. DH put decorations up inside the house but not like I do. I appreciate everything he has done to keep the Christmas spirit in our house. I never got cards out so everyone will just have to wait until the birth announcements. I also didn't get any shopping done. Oh well! I am thankful that we got to 20 weeks on the day we celebrate Christ's birthday!
I have been in the hospital or on complete bed rest since 10/30 so DH did it all. I have yet to see a Christmas light. I do have a small tree here but we aren't allowed lights. I guess maybe next year.
