I'm on my LAST box! Holy cow -I'm technically due one month from today -can't believe it! I had my "almost" 36-week appointment yesterday and am 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated. Not bad for being not quite 36 weeks and taking progesterone shots. I get my last shot next Tuesday -yay! Those things are so painful! Several of my friends think I'm going to go soon, but I really don't know. With my first, I was dilated at 3 cm for 4 weeks before I was finally induced. With my second, I was dilated at 3 for maybe two weeks, if that, before going into labor on my own. I just want the baby to be healthy; I'm in no hurrry. I just want him or her to come when they are ready!

Also, DH and I can't agree on boys names, so I will just laugh if we have a boy! Now, I'm wavering on a girl's name too. We always thought we'd go with Maya and I still love that, but lately I'm liking Lydia, too. The problem is that our last name starts with an "L." Is that too much? I don't know if I can let Maya go, though!

Wow!!! You are on that last box, already! and I can't believe you are so close. Yay!!

and I think both your little girl names would be absolutely adorable. And no worries about Lydia with the last name also starting with L. Just don't have her middle names start with an O. She'd be LOL. Seriously though, it's fine & will be adorable. If we have a boy, he'll be Mark and our last name starts with a M. I guess we too won't have the middle name start with an O, or he'll be MOM.

Last box!! Holy cow!! I'm guessing that you'll go close to your due date...based on past history with the boys. Praying for a girl for you!! Either name for a girl is beautiful. And, like Becky said, I wouldn't worry about the first and last name starting with the same letter. If we were having a boy it was going to be Carson with a last name starting with C as well....so I wouldn't worry about it too much. How about using both of the names.....Maya Lydia L. Then again, I know what your last name is, so I would say Maya with your last name a few times and you'll get what I mean (provided I'm pronouncing Maya correctly ). Lydia Maya L might actually flow better. Just bouncing ideas off of ya, hun!

Becky - LOL, I hadn't thought of that -so funny! That's so cool that both of you are planning on names that start with the same letter as your last names. DH loves both Lydia and Maya as well. That's a great suggestion, Jessica. Lydia Maya...hmmm. Time will tell!

Wow not long to go now! So funny that right off the bat there are 3 of you thinking of first name starting with same letter as surname! I also can't see anything wrong with it - if you don't get tongue-tied saying it then no problem!!! The girl's name we always liked starts with L, our last name is C. Boys names... well that will be a long discussion (but that's part of the fun right!) because we struggle finding boys names we both like.

We are in the same boat! DH thinks we should just wait until we see the baby and if it is a boy, then we can decide! I don't want that kind of pressure AND I'm such a planner.

That's funny about the name thing....we are going with Matthew and our last name starts with M too....That's why I wanted Mackenzie Nicole for a girl cause then she would have been my little M-N-M...lol....but Matthew is a name that we both agreed on (finally).....that is the hard part.....

Our last name starts with B so we wanted something that wouldn't spell out something with the initials. I am EAB (if I had dropped the middle initial and kept my maiden name as the middle initial, I would be EBB). Hopefully there is nothing about Katherine Elizabeth B that will cause her problems.

Can't believe it is already close to 36 weeks into your 40 week wait. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new LO and hearing his/her name.

I'm a planner too....that's one reason why we decided to find out what the gender was going to be. We are still having a tough time coming up with a name. We want something different, but not difficult or waaaay out there, and the spelling and pronunciation needs to be easy. And, then of course you need to check the initals to make sure it doesn't come out to be something bad and you need to try and figure out how cruel other kids will be when it comes to nicknames based on the real name.......soooo much to worry about!

The last box...I am soooo excited for you! I'm getting there! Only a week or two and I'll be in the last box, too! I remember thinking it looked sooooo far away when I was in box 1 or 2!

Yeah, we're out of boy names and I really think we're having a boy. My DH really likes Richard, and I know many guys with the name. I hope I'm not offending anyone when I say, "I can't name my baby Richard." I just keep thinking of Dick, Dicky, Little Ricky, Richie Cunningham, Little Richard, Little Richy, and Richard Simmons. Just can't do it...
I like the name Maximillian. I can't think of a good middle name to go with it, though.
We've had our girl name for 14 years and have never had to use it. It would be Katherine Rose (after my MIL and my mom) and we'd call her Katie Rose.

I'm tooo tired to fight the name battle these days. I guess we'll figure it out after we find out if it has a "kickstand" or not

I hope your appointments continue to go well, Heather. You're sooo close! Do you think you'll go early?

Kickstand! Good one!

I got my last progesterone shot on Tuesday and my doc said that I am on my own. Yay! I got the BEST workout yesterday! I'm 2 cm and almost fully effaced and was having B-H contrax last night coming every 10 minutes for almost 6 hours, but nothing else happened. I'm not super anxious to go THIS early, but I have felt for quite some time that I might go earlier than 39-40 weeks. We'll see!

Kelty, you are so close behind me! How exciting! I hope that all is well with you, too!
