Thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone has delivered on their due date previously??

Isn't it some tiny percentage that will actually deliver on the EDD?

My first ds was a scheduled c-section due to breech position. My 2nd ds was a trial of vbac - I DID go into labour on my due date but ds was born by emergency c-section 2 days later.

However, I have a friend who has delivered all 3 of hers on her exact due date - how's that??!

Obviously I'm not a BTDT mom....but I too have read that the percentages of due date births is very low. I know a girl IRL that DID deliver on her due date (here locally) and I was very surprised. I've heard things like.....if your mom delivered early you'll deliver early (or late if your mom delivered late) and I've also heard that if you have a short cycle then you'll deliver early (and a long cycle says that you'll deliver late).....so I'm guessing that if you have a "normal" cycle you'll deliver close to your due date?

I went into labor just after midnight the day of my due date and delivered Nolan at 2:35pm by c/s, exactly on my edd. Weird, huh?

wow, Marie, you're in the small percentage. I've not known anyone who's delivered on their edd.

Want me to bore you with my details...haha.

DD1- 6 days late
DD2- induced 2 weeks late, at 42 weeks, aahhh
DS3- ON HIS DUE DATE
DD4- induced 5 days late do to placenta issues
DS5- induced at 38 1/2 weeks do to pain
DS6- induced at 39 weeks for a water birth and size, he was 9lbs 2 oz
DS7- induced at 39 weeks for another water birth and concern over size, he was 7 lbs even.

So I've had lots of different types, but they have all been without pain meds. When I've been induced with the last two, all they did was reach in and break my water and it started. No IV's or anything. I was already dialated to a 4, so it was easy to break the water.

I certainly don't know it all, or don't mean to sound like that. But I will be happy to share details or answer questions the best I can for you ladies. Giving birth is just such an amazing thing.

So MarieJ did well to have her baby on her due date if you (Count our blessings) had one out of 8 on the due date . 42 weeks... ouch... I know my ob said he would let me go over 10 days and I was so relieved when I went into labour on my due date!!

I'd heard the odds of actually delivering on your due date were slim, and you can see it appears to be that way with our group of BTDT Moms.

I never went on my due dates:
DS#1 10 days late, induced
DS#2 one week early
DS#3 (still makes me giggle) 2.5 weeks early
