I'm having surgery

I posted awhile back about having post-partum thyroid problems. Things recently got more interesting. At first the docs just thought I had hyperthyroidism with a few nodules on my thyroid. The hyperthyroidism eventually resolved itself but I found out that I actually have a tumor on the left lobe of my thyroid. The biopsy came back "abnormal" and I have to have the entire left lobe removed. I have a surgical consult next week, so I'll know my timeline then. I'm bummed because I am going to have to stay in the hospital for a day or two. I'm not exactly sure how THAT is going to fit into my schedule right now. We're in the middle of multiple meetings (and a bit of a battle) with my DS's school to try to get him everything he needs. I'm hoping that I can push the surgery back until school is out. I'm still nursing too, which complicates things a bit. At least I'm feeling "fine" and not having many symptoms!

Glad you are feeling good but I am so sorry you are having these problems. Hugs to you and I hope you can get your schedule worked out so you can have the surgery sooner rather than later if that's what the docs prefer.

Big huggies sweetie!! That's a lot to deal with at one time. I hope you can get that out of you sooner rather then later & that you can get the school to do what's best for your DS. You've been battling them for months now. Please keep us posted!!!

and hope you're able to get worked out so you can have the surgery soon and get everything else sorted too! It seems like this battle with your son's school is a neverending one

I had an appointment with my surgeon -he's letting me wait until the end of July. As for my son's school situation, the saga continues...

Heather, I'm so sorry you're having to go thru so much! Becky's been keeping me posted on "things JM" so I had heard about the surgery awhile back, just not able to get online to post. I hope you can get things resolved at DS's school and that the surgery will just be a breeze and a small bump in the road of life. Love and Hugs!
