MIL posts comments on my photos of Katie and in all of them she spells her name "katy" which I have corrected her on and she insists that Katy is the proper spelling and I am just mis spelling my daughter's name. I haven't posted anything yet below her comments but if she keeps messing up DD's name, I am tempted to post "Yes, isn't KATIE cute. Not sure who Katy is."

That would be funny, Marie! Beth, I don't think you are being a ....you MIL is being rude. "Today" there are no right or wrong ways to spell names.

I just have to say, I've seen it spelled Katie more than Katy. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Katy. I think your MIL is both mistaken and out of line.

Yea, your MIL is being passive aggressive on this one. Katie's name in spelled the way that is actually the norm anyway.
