Am I the only one who has a shiver run down my spine when I end up standing next to someone who towers over me???? Just asking because I am used to being the one who towers over people and being the short person didn't exactly make me feel comfortable today. I mean being the towering tall person is sort of my thing.

A man who is 7'2" came into the store to buy some stuff today. I have known him all my life and he does this whole summer basketball camp thing that the kids really love. He is a really cool person, but I have to admit that I didn't like standing next to him because I didn't come much past his elbow. Tell me, do I have some major issues or what?????

You know, come to think of it, I get nervous when someone is a lot taller than me and stands close to me. I'm not sure why, I think it's because my DH is short and maybe it's unfamilair to me? I'm 5.5 so about right in the middle I guess, but yes, it does make me uncomfortable. Are we wierd for it? Who knows!

Yeah you're right it can be disconcerting. I'm 5'9" so I'm used to being reasonably tall around women at least...but if someone is a head taller than me and I have to crane my neck to speak to them, well there is something about that that makes me uncomfortable! So how tall are you Beth if you are used to being the towering one??

I am 5'10" in my bare feet, a bit taller than that in my shoes. We have lots of older people who may be an inch or two over 5' coming into the store so I generally feel like I am towering over customers.

OMG I know what you mean....I work with some "boys" that tower over me, even in heels....I'm only about 5-4, so most people are taller than me, but these boys are very tall....6-4, 6-3, 6-6, and 6-7 I believe. And they are all a lot younger than me....The 6-7 one is only 19 yo....the others rang in age from 20-23 I think....And i'm the manager???? hahahah The worst part is when all 4 are working together with me....

I get uncomfortable too. I'm somewhere around 5'8" (not sure with my crazy back), and if someone is really tall I get uncomfortable. DH's best friend is like 6'6".

I guess I'm the shortest here (at 5 ft even) so I'm VERY used to someone towering over me. And growing up with 2 very tall brothers (both over 6 feet tall) I kind of had to get used to it.
