I have to find a new ob now up here in the cold north of upper michigan. I have had several people recommend an ob. I might check to see if the office takes our insurance.

Good luck with the search! I hate doctor shopping. Our insurance company has an online directory of doctors. If yours has that it'll save you some time in your search.

They do but there is one listed for here and he doesn't take pregnant women anymore. Only does the gyno part of it. The others doctors are all about 2 hours away.
I might have to see a nonparticipating provider I think is what it is called. I would have to file the claims myself.

ugh, filling out the forms yourself will be a pain and does your insurance charge you more when you use a non-participating provider? Mine does.

yes I believe they do Becky. I think I used a non participating with the last couple of pregnancies. But they filed the claims for me so I am not quite sure. I do know that it was more money I had to pay for that provider. The first three children I know I saw a participating provider and it was a lot less for those pregnancies.

I hope you can find one though that does take your insurance. It'll be so much easier for you.

They are a hour away. They are in the same city I work in.
I guess because I am a new patient the OB has to review my info?? or something like that.
Eta don't know if I mentioned on this board or not but the office changed by due date by 6 days. Moved it up to July 14th instead of July 20th like FF says. The OB there hasn't even seen me yet.

I was wondering how they could change your EDD before even seeing you for the first time.

I don't know and they did it again when I called them again today to see if the doctor had accepted me as a new patient. They changed it to July 15th now. It is really starting to annoy me.
Hopefully they will do a dating u/s because this is ridiculous. For now I am going with July 17th since its right in between the 14th and 20th. FF did move my O date three times.
