After a crazy busy weekend, back to work with a snow storm here. WE are expecting around 6 inches at least.
CJ's birthday party was this weekend. It was great!! He was so awesome during it. He had really good reactions to all his presents and he loved his cake. The bulk of the pictures are on my facebook, but here is one-

We are getting snow as well, Sam. I am so sick of winter. Doctor's appointments are having to be rescheduled this week. At least we still have electricity, which is a blessing since no one likes to be cold and in the dark.

Oh wow Sam - CJ enjoyed that cake!!

I think I forgot to say last week that Layla started crawling just before Christmas. She's also clapping, waving bye bye, just started using the sign for 'milk', and started pulling up to standing (pulling up on furniture that is). She'll be 9 months old in two days - it's going so fast. Layla was up every hour last night...she had baby panadol, baby nurofen, teething gel...nothing helped enough.

O/T, Feeling very sad this morning - flash flooding a couple of hours away from us has killed 8 people including 4 kids . It is being described as an inland tsunami and the video footage is just terrifying with a 2 metre wall of water washing through the town of Toowoomba. There are 72 people missing and some were last seen being washed away.

The flood waters will head our way this afternoon/tomorrow - we should be okay where we live but dh heads into the city and works right near the main river running through Brisbane City where they are telling people to evacuate. I wished he would come and work from home but for the moment he's staying put and keeping an ear out to the radio.

Ladies, just a quick request for thoughts and prayers. One of the ladies I worked with at the prison (she was an RN) passed away from cancer tonight. The Hospice nurse had her moved from the home to the hospital because Lisa (my friend) did not want to die in the house in front of her three children. Lauren is 14, Lindsey is 10 and little Christian (her son) is 4. Please remember this these children and their father in your prayers. Just minutes after Lisa's passing, Lauren posted on FB "She's gone". Oh how my heart breaks for this family. Lisa was 38.

Definitely keeping those dealing with flooding in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry I did not comment on it yesterday but I was a bit rattled. Love the pics of the kids I have been seeing in the past few weeks, just wanted to let you both know in case I don't mention it where the photos are posted.

Thanks ladies. There are now 90 people missing, including whole families. There has been a break in the rain today so choppers will be able to fly into the area to look for survivors. The latest death was a 4yo boy who fell out of an SES (State Emergency Service) boat when he was being evacuated . I think everyone is just in disbelief.

Dh had to leave work early yesterday and will have to work from home all week as the main river has burst its banks and he works in a low lying suburb close to the river.

The house my cousin owns may go underwater so they are packing and preparing to evacuate. The sun is shining but there is still so much water headed their way - it seems crazy to think it's sunny but thousands of houses are still to be inundated with water.

Beth, how so sad. I know the age of 38 hits close to most of us. I'll be praying for her family. Uh, makes my heart heavy.

Lenore, my goodness, stay safe!!! Wow, I had no idea! Please keep us updated on how you and yours are doing.

AFM, still smiling from the BFP . I'm nervous about my thyroid not being in check yet, but I need to make an appointment today to get in. I put a new picture of Lila in my siggy from Christmas. She was so adorable in her little Ms. Claus outfit. I wish I would have had a Santa one for Nathan. Hope everyone had a good Christmas, I feel like I'm just getting back to normal.
