Marie had the great suggestion of just doing a chit-chat up here for updates. It's hard to remember to post weekly threads for updates, so this will hopefully work better for all of us.

So, how's everyone doing? How are those little ones? New pics please!!! I miss seeing those preggo bellies and always love seeing updated pics of our little ones.

Doing good over here...Savannah's great and we've avoided illness for past couple of months (woot woot, hope i didn't just jinx us!) so just enjoying the summer. She got stung by a bee at daycare on Friday, but thankfully had no reaction to it, so we cross another potential fear off our list My grandmother had severe allergy to bees so (of course) I worried...

I unfortunately injured my foot back on Memorial Day (tore cartilage supporting base joint in 2nd toe) so have been to doctors (who thought it was fractured) to end up with a specialist & more x-rays, and the an MRI - and ultimately in a BIG walking boot for 5 weeks which i'm now out of (yay) but surgery is still 50/50 chance based on latest check up today (boo)

Here's a few more recent pics of Savannah....I have some more from birthday party we attended for a friend of her's at daycare yesterday but I haven't pulled them off camera yet

Great idea on this thread!

I only have a minute. The 4th of July was an expensive one around here. We had 3 ER visits. Yikes, that's gonna really hurt! I took Lila in for an ear infection, took her back 2 days later to a different doctor and finally to our doctor on Tuesday. I know the ER docs thought I was a crazy mom, but you know what, I was right. THey treated her with to small of a dose. So my baby suffered for 3 days because of it. I' m thinking of protesting the bill since she was mistreated. Than Sally (she's 5 and finally hit 30lbs, yeah!) fell and broke her arm while watching the fireworks. Poor thing now has a cast and it's tough when it's so hot.

AFM, I had a misdiagnosed UTI and was put on the wrong medicine at the urgent care, than I went to my doctor on Tuesday with Lila and found out this is a bad medication for pg ladies and was put on a different med and it cleared up, but now I have a yeast infection, even with probiodics. Oh Joy. My incision isn't healed yet from the appendix and the skin is starting to stretch as baby grows. Owie. We are 29 weeks and it's flying by!

Gotta say, I love my doctor and it really is tough when we have to use the urgent care/ER and get a not so good doctor. I was so thankful for both Lila and I to get in to see her!

Sorry, it got long. You got an update and hope you followed all of it!

Hope all is well!

Oh Savannah is just too cute!

Mari! I was just thinking about you last night! No more dr visits until baby is born, okay?

AFM, baby Joey will be here in 21 days--three weeks from tonight my spinal should be gone and I'll be fighting trying to EBF again, cool!! I am so uncomfortable and pressurey, not sure if he'll wait that long. He'd better, we're at least one week away from finishing the basement, moving the bigs down, and making him a nursery! Laminate is going in today, so we're getting close!

I'll do pics tomorrow, too tired right now

Lara - Savannah is such a cutie!! And she's getting so big.

Mari - I was going to send you a PM to check up on you, so happy you've popped in. I agree with Marie, no more doctor visits (for any of you) until the baby is born, okay? I hope everyone feels better soon.

Marie - wow, 21 days!! I know how uncomfy you are, but I hope he waits until you have that basement finished. I look forward to seeing pics when you feel up to it.

AFM, things are good. It's miserably hot here, but is supposed to cool down by the weekend and thankfully the humidity will ease up some too. That makes it so miserable. Mark is growing like crazy, I'm pretty sure he's hit the 20 pound mark now, he's getting so heavy. We're still using the infant carrier carseat (it goes up to 22 pounds), but he's starting to get pretty heavy in it. We have the next car seat, so we can switch up when we need to. Figured we use this one until he outgrew it. Also exciting is that he has cut 2 more teeth, the pre-molars on the right side. and working on the pre-molars on the left side now. Ouchie for cutting them together though, he has been a little grumpy with that but thankfully is soothed easy with frozen teethers and tylenol if needed. We figure that 4th tooth on the bottom front will come in on it's own schedule. Beyond that, I'm really looking forward to having all of next week off work, that'll be a very nice change of pace. Little Mark won't know what to do having both of us home with him for a whole week. As I indicated on the main board, it'll be a stay-cation for us and we hope to play tourist in our local area. I can't wait!!

the bigs are thrilled to have a new shared bedroom, we've been gearing them up for it for months! Helps that we also built them a "secret hideout" in the crawlspace under the stairs-its painted, lit and floored with their own special door I'm not as excited to have my family split up btwn three floors: N and E in basement, nobody on main floor, the rest of us on 2nd floor. I'll have monitors, but I'm still scared of how to get them out in case of fire by myself at night

I did this for one of the PR's, thought you could let me know what you do?

our morning routine:
0530-dh up and leave for work for 6
0630-Nolan wakes and comes to my room, he either watches cartoons in my bed or I send him to the main floor to play and watch cartoons
8am-hear twins wake and chattering next door
0830-I crawl out of bed and into the shower
0845-four kids into bathtub while I get dressed
0915-downstairs for breakfast
0935-clean up for kids and kitchen, time to play or leave the house

Marie - I'm sure N & E are thrilled to have their new space, and that hideout sounds really cool. I know what you mean though about being anxious. Mark's bedroom isn't on the same floor as ours either and those thoughts have also crossed my mind.

Morning Routine -
4:45 my alarm goes off, I sometimes hit snooze but typically am up & dressed by 5:00. (I prefer to shower before bed, helps with allergies and saves time in the morning)
5:10ish - upstairs in the kitchen. Mark is usually still sleeping, I let him sleep a few while I start water for tea & breakfast.
5:20-5:30ish - head upstairs to wake Mark, he's sometimes already awake so we cuddle a bit then dipe change and out of PJs and into regular clothes. Back to main level we go.
5:30 - 5:40 - Mark plays or tries to "help" me in the kitchen, while I'm finishing breakfast. DH is also upstairs at this point and he's packing the lunches we prepared the night before into all our lunchboxes.
5:40 - Mark is in his highchair eating a snack before we head out the door.
5:50 - We pour the tea into to go cups, wrap our breakfast sandwiches up in paper towels and DH puts all our bags in the car.
5:55 - Clean Mark up, check dipe (usually dry), then into his carseat.
6:00 - We're on the road.
6:30 - drop DH off at his work.
7:00 - drop Mark at daycare, have 10 minutes to chat and play. Sometimes more if traffic is nice and I get there before 7:00.
7:10-7:15 - leave to head into my work.
7:20 - park in garage at my work, and walk the few blocks to my building.
7:30 - I'm getting bugged for stuff at work.

That's my typical morning routine.

Afternoon, DH gets off at 3:30 and takes metro (subway) to my office, I get off at 4:00, we walk to garage get car, and pick Mark up at daycare. Heading home by 4:20-4:30, home usually by 5:00-5:15ish unless there's major traffic delays.

oh I so don't miss the days when N was one and I was back to doing early mornings with childcare and work. I was super-lucky since my dayhome was literally across the street-I would wake him, change his bum and walk him over, she'd dress and feed him. That would be at 0630am. I'd drive 7mins and be at work for 7, leave work at 3pm, grab groceries, park at home by 3:30pm, walk across the street to get Noley and be in the house by 3:45. I love small cities!

Part of me missing work life, but how on earth would I get 4 kids ready for childcare, get one on the bus for kinder, plus be at work for 7am? I'd need a live in nanny, and that won't be happening in this lifetime. But I work with people at the college who do just that.

I can't imagine getting 4 ready to go out the door either. It's a scramble some mornings with just 1 and DH & me. like this morning . . . when I turned off the alarm instead of hitting snooze. I roll over and it's 5:30. We made it though, still left the house by 6:00ish and got everyone to work/daycare/and me into work on time. Whew . . . tiring though.

So, is it time to go home yet?

Okay, I am going to get growly for a moment. I am so ticked right now. This woman I know is pregnant, just had breast enlargement surgery in the past three weeks, already has two kids she does not take care of (one of which is special needs), she is a meth head and is the town bike (sorry to put it that way, but it is the nicest way I could find to explain her philosophy about intimacy). I am irked that she is preggers and lots of good, loving women who would love to add to their families are not. Life is not fair and I want to just climb up on the roof and scream.

As long as you don't jump off that roof Beth, go ahead . Sometimes it's hard to understand things here on earth.

Becky, your schedule makes me tired!
Marie, hope he move goes well.

AFM, we are steaming in hot weather. We are on day 3 of a week long heat bender. This is unusual for Wisconsin. Our heat index yesterday was 115 degrees......unreal for here. Our poor animals. We haven't lost any yet, our meat chickens have a hard time with heat on this degree as does our cow. But we water, provide shade, check on them and pray for the heat to end. Andy works in construction, so he's in it all day.....so tough for him. He handles it like a trooper though. They might be cutting back on hours this week because of it.

As for the homefront, it's going pretty good. Some of you may remember me mentioning our Mark being evaulated and we got back his evaluation of developmental delays, poor motor skills, and inability to control his reactions . I know it could be a 100 times worse, it's just tough to think of having a 3rd with special needs. I know the Lord will teach me how to best help him, but it just gets so hard. Raising 8 of them is hard enough, but adding 3 with special needs is even tougher. So I'm praying for wisdom and a good therapist who will help us learn how to help him.
We started back to school last week, and of course are adjusting it to everyone's different level of skills and abilities takes a little time, plus we are adding another walking little one to the mix. But so far so good, our oldest boy who is 6, has really taken off on reading, so I'm thrilled. Thats a wonderful step.

We are hopefully getting more calves the end of the week or next week, whenever they have some available. I'm not sure I'm up to bottle feeding them 2-3 times a day, but it's the way we start them, so it's what we do. This mama is starting to feel the "joys" of later pregnancy I'm almost 31 weeks, and so far no more issues with bladder infections. My incision from the appendix is really starting to pull though and be sore. We are hoping it is strong enough to support a growing babe and get through labor. Time will tell I guess. I know I probably won't go past my due date for those reasons.

Hope everyone is well! I'm off to get kiddos to head out for morning chores. It's already 85 degrees this morning. Crazy. The heat is tough on Lila and on me. By the time I get to the barn, I'm out of breath and sweating....so atttractive. I know the pigs don't care, but it's still nice to feel a little human!

Have a great one ladies!

((hugs)) Beth, its very frustrating to watch

((hugs)) Mari-hoping you can find a good therapist and program to get you guys through this. You're one tough couple and your kids are so lucky to have chosen you as their parents! I can't believe you're 31 weeks! Wow-I'm jealous of the heatwave, certainly don't have that here. Nolan just snuggled under the queen duvet in front of the tv for cartoons, its so chilly here morning and pm; the days with sun aren't very hot either. It hasn't rained four days in the past four weeks

Wow, Marie, you can have some heat! Today the heat index is back at 115 degrees, it's almost unbelievable. We are getting into a week of it, and it's starting to take a toll on us and our animals But the tomatoes, fruits, and corn are growing while we speak, so that's a good thing.

We picked up 7 baby calves last night, so up at 3:30 am for their feeding. Makes for a tired mama. We have to bottle feed them for about 3 months, so it's a long haul...but we can usually teach them to drink by pail by 4 weeks, so that really helps. Farming life can be tough, but it's the best way for us. We really love it. But we got to bed about 11:30, up at 1:00 to pee (of course) and than up at 3:00 to pee again, and the alarm went off at 3:30. I did *try* and go back to bed and fell asleep around 6, than my alarm went off at 6:30. I shouldn't have tried to go back to bed, but it's so tempting.

Today, we are getting new calves settled, moving chickens around to different pastures and making strawberry/rhubarb jam. I'm freezing it today though, I can't bear the thought of heating up the house to can. Can't do it .

Andy is working half days due to heat, they just can't do anymore. Great for helping with the chores and animals around here in the heat, but bad on the paycheck end. Oh well, that happens.

Anyway, this mama is getting bigger and bigger. This morning I had to climb up a calf pen and down the other side to get up a lazy one (hard to explain) but I'm up on the top trying to swing my legs around my belly, it had to be a sight. I was just thankful Ididn't fall off, Andy doesn't want me doing dumb stuff like that, especially when I'm pg.

Hope everyone is well!

Beth - that is frustrating to see. Unfortunately, you could have been describing one of my SILs.

Mari - Ouchie with that heat. I hope you're staying cool and that you'll get a break now that the heat wave is coming my way. I too hope you find a good therapist and what works best for your little Mark. ((hugs)) And yay for 31 weeks! I know you're exhausted, but it won't be long now. and I LOVE the new Lila pic.

Marie - I will gladly share some heat with you too, and will gladly take some of your rain down here.

AFM - Hi ladies! I have a few moments so jumped online while I had a chance. DH & I are enjoying our staycation. It's a break from the typical routine. We're not doing too much outside as we're also having those miserable temps & humidity too. We had hoped to play tourist and go see some of the sites around us that we just haven't seen in a while. Instead of that we spent the weekend at a cabin a few hours away from home and returned home Monday. They had a pool there, and Mark absolutely loved the water. We thought he would since he loves his baths so much. We got some cute pics of him on his float, so once I have a chance I'll upload them to share. Well, I'm off to cuddle with DH & watch a movie. I'll jump back on when I have another chance.
