I have a question! Tomorrow is our ten week appointment with our obgyn. I think she will talk to us about tests. I am so slow right now I can't remember what the tests are called (genetic? ... tests to see if there is anything wrong with the baby). What do y'all think about these? I don't really want any tests...but then again I am not sure of their value. I'm not planning to give up the baby for any reason, but maybe that is not the only reason for these tests. I am sure I am not making any sense. Help?

how did I miss this? We didn't opt to do any testing, there are alot of false positives and it wasn't going to change our decision on termination anyhow. And I wasn't prepared to do an amnio if something came out positive. How did your appt go?

I didn't see this post either until now.

I hope your appt went well. DH & I did do some of the testing. We did some basic bloodwork before we even got pg, and when we were pg we did the NT testing which was an u/s and bloodwork. It was less invasive then some of the other tests and after that, we declined further testing. I don't know if any of the possible results would have changed our mind about keeping the pg going, but we just wanted all the info we could get in order to plan ahead.

Hi girls! The appointment was good. I was ten weeks that day and the baby measured ten weeks. Sooooo cute. Heartbeat was 176. Our doctor talked to us about testing and we decided we are not going to test. Next appointment is the 18th. ( :
