I think people probably think I am older then what I am...{mostly because of the age of my 3 older kids!}

Most people think I am in my early 40's. I turned 50 last month! I am starting to age, tho. GRRR. lol Most people are very surprised to find out I have a 24 yr old son. It's nice, but I always blow it by saying "I'm 50! But don't tell anyone. lol" Yeah, don't tell anyone...leave that to me. lol

People always find it hard to believe I`m a Maw Maw {Grandma} too! They always think my Grandsons are my Children. I think it`s cute! My oldest Grandson Jalen will be 13 in August So,I`ve been a Grandma for some years now!!! And I love it so much!!!!
My oldest Grandson actually likes when people think he is my Son... He has been told that he looks like me too!

People used to do that with my mother and me. I guess slow aging just runs in the family. But you're right. It used to drive me nuts! When I was young, I always looked older. Now that I am older, I am sure glad that trend didn't continue! lol All in all, I think it's a mindset. I think if you feel and act old, you look old. If you're like me and simply refuse to grow up...well ok at some point you look like an idiot but that's a long way off, right? Right? RIGHT?
When it gets right down to it, what matters is not how young or old you look, but how you feel. Not how attractive you may or may not be, but how you live your life. Not how much money you have or what material things you own but how much you love and are loved by the people around you. I am truly blessed. I have people who love me and whom I love and I am happier than I have ever been before! With my first marriage, I had all the stuff. New cars, big houses, trips, money to spend on more stuff. I was miserable. Now I have an car that is paid off though not new, a home instead of a house, friends and family that care about me and not what I can offer them in the way of status, and enough money to meet my needs and still keep me appreciative of the things I have. I've gone from spending money to fill up time and this empty feeling in the pit of my stomach to spending time with loved ones and savoring every minute that I do. I don't worry anymore that someone might stop by and find me in my nightgown with no makeup on and a messy house. Now I welcome them and put on a pot of coffee! Sometimes I just sit back and think how lucky I am to be this flawed, slightly wackie person that I am. I'm the luckiest person in the world...in spite of my flaws...or maybe because of them!
