have one of the big trees in our front yard cut down ..I`m talking way down underground too...{stump removed} It is dead!! When we had a new septic system put in months after buying the house ..all the digging they did killed the roots to the tree...I had 2 guys come out yesterday to give me prices on them taking it down & also taking the wood...Both said $600:00...This evening 2 more guys are coming out,so we will see what they say! I would say it is probably a 30 foot tree...

I feel your pain! We have 3 dead trees that need to be removed! Unfortunately, they are ALL on our next door neighbors property and although we have spoken with him several times, he hasn't done anything about them yet. One is directly above the kid's bedrooms and my new home office! We even went so far as to get an estimate ($750 for all three) and offered to pay half! What's even worse is he is trying to sell his house and with those trees there, it sure doesn't look good to prospective buyers. I am so afraid that he'll leave it until we have our next hurricane and the big one will fall on our house. I sent him a certified letter telling him that it will be HIS responsibility to pay for any damages but so far he hasn't bothered to even respond. Legally, we can't hire someone to take them out because they're not our property--not that I think he'd mind if we paid the costs involved but I don't feel we should have to pay anything!

Now that`s a deal..$750 for all 3} I hope nothing bad happens because of his dead trees ...Maybe he will sell his home soon and you will get new people in there that will want them removed right away! And pay to do it themselves! Or maybe someone will tell him that they will buy and make him remove them first before settling the deal!
Well, anyways GOOD LUCK!!

Did you have to get land fill for the gaping hole it would have left in your yard?
