Thanks for the invite Joann!!! I'm so happy to see this (new??) board! I'm guessing though that things might be a little slow around here - there's not many of us crazy people out there having babies when we're (gasp) old!!

My name is Adele. I'm 41 years old and due with my 2nd (a girl) the end of August. My first DS was born when I was 38 and he was an invitro fertilization baby. We really waited too late to try and have kids and by the time we figured out there were problems, we were older... Anyway, my first hubby died unexpectantly when our son was 7 months old. I got remarried last May to a younger guy (i'm a cougar - ha!!) and although we wanted to have another child, we didn't really expect much. We both agreed that we didn't want to go through special treatments to concieve. My OB wasn't very hopeful for us either... but low and behold, we got pregnant! It was sort of a surprise! I also have a bonus 10yo daughter from my DH's prior marriage. THAT has been more challenging than anything...

I truly don't see myself as an older mom... and definitely don't feel it. I feel so well prepared to raise my children. I've done all the partying I want to do, and now it's all family, baby... I have a successful career that I can maintain while being a mommy. I have no regrets whatsoever....

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Adele,

Welcome. Gosh what an inspiring, moving story. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your pregnancy and baby girl Very exciting!!!

I too don't see myself as an older mom and forget at times that I'm 41 I've done all the partying too and now it's time for them and my family.

Thanks for stopping in. Don't be a stranger and keep us all posted on your pregnancy. It gives me hope....we're TTC our 4th baby right now.

Cuddles,
Joanne
