I'm new here (kinda obvious, but thought I'd say it anyway) and am waaaaay over 40. I'm not ttc, but it seems I may have accidentally done it anyway. My son (only child) is 24/25, and the thought of having one at my age (downhill of 49) scares me silly. My DH thinks it'll be great...I'm working on feeling the enthusiasm...not because I don't want a baby - I'd love one! - but because I'm older with high blood pressure, hypothyroidism and my "love handles" have turned into a steering wheel!

If I am pregnant, I'm about four weeks, which means AF is due any minute now - since I'm perimenopausal, that may or may not happen. My symptoms are the norm for just before AF with the exception of nausea beginning about two in the afternoon for the last three days and nothing tastes "right". These could be AF symptoms, just not ones I'm used to...the others are the norm - bloated tummy, boobs are swollen and nipples "at attention", headaches, etc.

I'm tempted to take a test, but know it's somewhat early - I don't know if I'd be estatic or depressed if it came up negative.

Anyway, that's my story and I'll keep you updated if you're interested.

Sarah

Tired...did I remember to put tired on the list? I have taken naps two days in a row now and am trying on the verge of one now! Urgh!

I'll test in the morning I guess but isn't it too early? If I ovulated on the 28th, I'd only be 8 dpo.

I would test too. As far as it being too early, I'm not sure how early one can test....I just know that they make the tests so that they can be taken pretty early these days.

Welcome.

Tested this morning with FMU, but it was a BFN - AF hasn't shown up and cramps are gone...maybe it's just the perimenopause thing and I'm not going to have AF or baby...

How many days past ovulation are you Sarah? It might just be too early.
Hugs and hang in there.

11 dpo now - no cramps but still feel bloated, tired, headachy, ..the usual PMS stuff - I will test again when I am 15 dpo and haven't started. I don't know why I feel like I'm pregnant - we've never done anything to prevent it, thinking it wasn't something that could happen after all these years and I've never had "the feeling" before now. Paranoia?

I tested this morning and think we saw a pale pink line. I still plan to wait until I get a solid, no squint needed, pink line.

Hi Sarah,

Have you decided to TTC now? The shift in hormones (mainly progesterone) can make us feel like we are pregnant when we are not... It can be really frustrating! Hope all is well with you.
