You look great! I tried so hard to gain and maintain 10 lbs more than my normal twentysomething weight before perimenopause started for real, but no luck. I could put it on, but I couldn't keep it on long enough to do any good.
Some people say I look younger than I am, but I think it's either because I had little ds so late in life that they don't expect it or because they think saying that I do is supposed to be some sort of a compliment.
I quit smoking eight years ago and really do feel that my body did a remarkable job of healing itself. I was only into tanning during my teens, but I was kind of suspicious that long term heavy use of sunscreen might not be such a great idea and feel somewhat vindicated that the recent studies show that I WASN'T just being paranoid after all. So far I haven't had any skin cancer scares, but it's really too early to tell.
I miss being able to have babies, but other than that I feel like the excess estrogen of my youth made me stupid and I'd far rather deal with occaisional bouts of sadness and anger than spend the rest of my life as a docile doormat.
I think my age is tricky to guess. The long hair and tattoos cover a lot, and they generally suggest a 'younger' person, but if you look carefully you can see underneath all that I look much older than I am.
I think I'm doing pretty well. Most people are shocked when they hear my age and how many kids I have. LOL. I've always looked a lot younger than I am though, and I think it's just now finally starting to make me happy. When I was younger, I was always trying to look older and now I like looking younger.
