Ok so tonight I got to thinking about how I'm 36 now and I'm wondering how much different things will be with this pregnancy. I'm not worried, but will it be treated differently because of my age? My mom was 44 when I surprised her
Anyone know or want to point me in the direction of some advice. I need to call the dr I guess, but I was gonna wait until I got Medicaid, since we can't afford insurance.
I think I'm the only one in here that can answer that. lol I thought I would be going to a high risk OB since I was almost 40 when I was pregnant with Alek. Nope, I went to a midwife the whole time and only saw an OB once, when Alek was turned wrong so she could see in the u/s and wouldn't you know, he was turned head down. I even had a midwife deliver him. I was given the option of additional tests, but my midwife never pushed anything.
Every place is different, though. I would suggest calling around and actually talking to some doctors and midwives before you even get pregnant to see how they handle the "Advanced Maternal Age" in your area. The other hospital in town has those that are "AMA" see an OB, so it even varies in the same town. Or, you can just move here and go see my MW, who I love to death.
This last pregnancy was actually the easiest of the three. Would I do it again, hell yeah.
I'm definitely overweight a little concerned about that affecting other things. I got my application done today, so I'll call the dr as soon as I am able
