Dun dun dun lol

For some people this is a SERIOUS no-no and is very much frowned upon. For others, they see it as being frugal, re/upcycling and very much in the "OK". What do you think?

I haven't.. but that's honestly because I've never really gotten a horrid gift lol. My family and friends are really good about giving things I like and/or need. My family is also big on lists... Christmas, etc.. they still make me make a list at 32 years old! So, I always kinda get what I need and like.

I'm afraid to regift, though. Not because it's tacky, but because I'd be afraid someone it would be seen or known about by the original person who sent it!

I haven't ever done it, but then again I don't know that I've ever had anything to re-gift. I've given away things that I didn't like, but I didn't give them as gifts. It was more of a "anyone want this?" moment.

I've never done it myself. I haven't really gotten anything bad enough that I wanted to get rid of it that bad lol. I also agree with Ericka that I would be scared to do it because I would be the person to get found out lol.

That's what happened to me. My DH's aunt and uncle are some of the craziest re-gifting people I've ever known! lol I don't think they've ever kept anything anyone has given them. They're very "uppity" and snobbish so it's a headache trying to buy for them in the first place.

Last Christmas I'd gotten them a very pretty set of candles with crystal candle holders. I couldn't get the price sticker off completely so I scraped it off in an "X". For my MIL's birthday this year, she received the candle set lol I don't know if they just didn't remember who gave it to them so they didn't think anyone would notice or what, but I was embarrassed that they'd done that. My MIL said she'd had that happen to her with them before too, but she'd given them something and they'd given it back to her two Christmases later lol Wow!

I always think about them when it's getting close to Christmas. Wondering if I should even bother getting them anything and if I do, make sure it's something I know I'd want back haha

I'm not against regifting in theory, but i do not believe in giving people things that they wont like or arent appropriate.

I regifted a beautiful siver frame. We got it from steves friend for jakes christening, but we got two. I couldnt return it, so about 2 years later, I gave it to my cousin. It was a beautiful frame and i didnt give it away because i didnt want it, just that i already had one!

I also regift toys. At birthdays and christmas, i put some of jakes gifts away, to bring them out at a later date, when he is really bored or its raining etc. But i forget about them, and then he outgrows them. These toys are still in their packages and boxes, and its not that i dont want them, I just didnt use them. So i regift! I'm very careful tho, I dont give a gift to the same side of the family, or from the same circle of friends. like if my cousin gets jake something, i give it to a friend, or if steves aunt gives us something, i will give it to my cousin.
Some examples are a set of wooden blocks given to jake by steves friend, i gave to the neighbour, a vetech singing penguin that santa brought to jake a few years ago but was never opened went to my cousins baby last christmas, things like that.

If the gift is something that i wouldnt buy for the person i am regifting it to, then it isnt an option. and i dont regift if it isnt good quality.

Robyn. I've regifted unopened toys or Christmas ornaments that we've gotten duplicates of. And it's something I would've likely given the recipient anyway, but we simply couldn't use it. I've also regifted Bath & Body products if it's a scent that I didn't care for but knew someone who did. Never in the same circle though!

I never really have. I don't really like it as a practice. I wouldn't do it personally unless I felt that another person would LOVE the gift that I do not like. If I did not like a gift, I would just give it away, but not as a gift.

Maybe a gift card to a restaurant? At least if they regift it, someone else will get some use out of it!
