I am not a big fan of shower games..especially any of the ones where you guess moms weight or guess how big of a string you need to wrap around the belly so do you have any fun ideas that dont include those invasive "games"? I was thinking about buying some plain white onsies and some fabric markers and letting all of the guest "design" a shirt for the baby...they can draw, write, etc on the onsie..sort of a game/fun thing to do.

I hate the ones with the melted candy in the diaper. I think it's vulgar and tacky, but it is an option...

I've done one where everyone put a paper plate on their head and tried to draw a baby on it while it was up there. It was really funny to see how they turned out. I still have the ones from Emily. Also, they had each person write a message on a newborn diaper. It was really awesome to have those words from my friends the first few days of having Emily at home. I made sure to take pictures of her in each one for the scrapbook I've never done If you're looking for a more thoughtful game, you could do a word scramble or word search with baby items/things. One of them that was kind of interesting was that my friend did a game where she gave us the names of famous people's kids and we had to guess the parents. She was nice enough to give us a word bank of options.

I can't even imagine the number of games and trash you have to sift through when you google baby shower games... Plus, you don't want to do the ones that EVERYONE does like "taste this and guess what food it is..." That one was awful for me since I was still having morning sickness and watching everyone taste it at my shower was making me gaggy.

I love the onesie idea - I think that's very sweet and creative!!

The ones I don't like:

I hate any of the ones where you have to guess how big mom is or how much she weighs, etc. If it were JUST really close family I guess it would be fine but UGH! lol

I've been to several baby showers for sisters and friends and nearly all of them did the melted candy bar in the diaper thing. I always thought that was just nasty! But, some people get a kick of out it.

Then there's the baby food one, like Gen also mentioned, guessing what each baby food is by a taste, blugh.

And putting apple juice into bottles and having a "race" to see who could drink it down the fastest. I always thought this was kind of funny to watch but again, as my stomach has decided it's going to suck this entire pregnancy the thought of watching people ingest things like that makes me kind of nauseous lol

Now the ones I thought were kind of cute lol

Give everyone 3 safety pins when they get there with a ribbon of baby gender color tied to it. Inform them that if someone sees them (insert action here.. cross their arms, cross their legs, rub their nose, touch their hair.. whatever) they get to ask for one of their pins. The person at the end of the shower with the most pins wins a prize. - I always thought this was kind of a cute way to get everyone involved with each other!

Drop a few baby items into the big section of a baby bag and let each person reach in for 5-10 seconds and feel around as much as they can and then write down what they felt on a piece of paper. The person at the end of the game that guessed the most things correctly wins a prize.

And this one's not really a game, just a fun thing to do.. Similar to your onesie idea and Gen's diaper idea..

Instead of having a guestbook have everyone sign a plain colored receiving blanket. (I loved this!! Both of my sisters that did this still have theirs <3)
