Have your neighbours ever borrowed something from you?
Would you expect them to replace what they borrowed?
Would you decline if it happened more than a few times?

Only things like tools but usually it is DH who offers it to them.

I don't know my neighbors, I like that they keep to themselves like we do. I don't like anybody borrowing anything. I would lend some sugar or whatever, but I would not expect it back. I expect if I ever needed something, they would give me something in return. If I never need anything, so be it.

ohh me and my neighbor we borrow things all the time from each other...milk sugar oil...tools shes borrowed our steam vac....etc....i dont expect them to replace anything when it comes to milk or sugar or oil..because i know if i needed it and she had some she would offer it up to me without asking for a replacement and we've done it so many times by now...heck im sure we both lost track of what was borrowed and how much LOL

The last time a neighbor ever borrowed something and yes it was sugar I was, I wanna say...7ish...so that was a long time ago. And I only remember that because I had to get it for him. lol I dont really mingle with my neighbors, thats just me. But I will help anyone with what I can when someone is in need, so if someone knocked on my door and asked for something that simple I would gladly help out. However, on the other hand, I would not expect it back. I do not like to eat food from people I am not familiar with so if they ever payed me back I would say thank you and throw it out when I got into the kitchen.

I don't know our neighbors and considering some of the things I've seen, I wouldn't let them borrow much of anything...
