I have a question? Drake is on medium flow nipples for 2 days now. He does not choke, he drinks it just fine. But, while he drinks he arches his back (new behavior, and I know that can mean acid reflux) and he is like VERY intense, he swallows very fast. When I stop him in between to burp him he screams because he wants to finish eating. When he is done eating he is fine...anyone else do this? Its so weird that he is like "struggling" while eating but then as soon as he is done he is fine...does that even make sense? He is still my normal happy baby, nothing has changed, just the way he eats.

I was thinking that maybe he is still not 100% used to the medium flow but he is totally ready for them. On the slow he took like an hour to eat 4 oz and got so tired that he would fall asleep and he would grunt. I could tell he was totally unsatisfied. Maybe he just needs some more time to get fully used to them? Because like I said he is fine once he is done so I am not too worried.

He probably just need to get used to them. And i doubt it is a reflux thing or you would have had it from the get go.

ditto kristy. try and have him semi upright while feeding so the flow isnt too fast and he has to work a little to get it out. cos if he's working for it its at his pace, instead of gravity iykwim.
Sounds like he just needs to get used to it hun, if it was too fast for him he would be super gassy afterwards and would prob spit up alot.

So last feeding I sat him upright, not all the way but pretty good and he did great! I think it was the gravatational pull. He does spit up alot though more like it runs from his mouth like an hour after he eats, but he is sooo happy so I dont think its anything to worry about.

you know best hun, dont forget that! If he is a happy little sausage then you really dont have anything to worry about! sounds like its normal to be honest. All babies spit up. Think its called posset? but they generally stop around the time they are weaned afaik.
