we had a small outdoor wedding....it was perfect for us...not a lot of people...close family and friends....my uncle married us....yep perfect and we did the reception at my moms house....cost us...umm 35 dollars for the license LOL my dress cost 80...my shoes about 15 LOL
15 people total(including us) at my moms townhome...that was for the reception.
The same group of people went to my moms church to have her Bishop marry us in his office.
Mom made the food and cake and decorated the table it sat on really cute.
It wasnt formal, I had a nice dress my mom got and my hubby wore a Sunday suit and everyone else(my family and his best friend and his two kids) wore Sunday type outfits.
I did have a pic displayed but I put it with our marriage certificate and now thats all packed up and nothing is displayed.
When we redid our vows in December of 2010 we "redid" it the way we wanted as far as our spirituality goes instead of doing what my family wanted(they didnt force us we just knew they'd be comfy having their guy do it so we went that route). So now, there is no other way Id have my wedding even if we had buckets of money. Im happy with how it went.
~My thanks to *Kiliki* for the siggy and Lucy S for the blinkies~
Our wedding was pretty big and insane, lol. Long story short, we had a lot of people from out of town, so it was a multi-day event. DH's family turned the "rehearsal dinner" into a full-day of fun for all the out of town peeps, and my dad insisted on things being a lot fancier than DH and I would have done on our own. I think the guest count was 135 going in, but I'm not sure how many people "officially" came.
It was an amazing weekend and I wouldn't change a thing!
Oh, and my dad and stepmom bought an 8 x 10 picture of the two of us and framed it for Christmas after the wedding, so yes, we do have a pic hanging in the hallway.
What kind of wedding did you have? ie big and white, or small and close? Ours was somewhere in the middle. We had about 75 people there, daytime wedding. It was perfect for us!
If money wasnt an issue, would you change the type of wedding you had? Nah. The ONLY thing I would change - though it's physically impossible - is to not have it pour down rain. We were supposed to have an outdoor ceremony and pics outside. Ah well!
Do you have a wedding picture on display in your home? Yep, we have several!
ohh i forgot to answer the wedding photo yes i do have a couple on display actually
i do want to take one of our wedding photos and convert it to a pencil drawing and hang it next to the picture of my mom and dad on the wall and if i can get ap icture of dh's wedding then i want to do the same for theirs and hang them all together
What kind of wedding did you have? ie big and white, or small and close? I suppose for some it would seem big. We had about 85 people there. It was an afternoon wedding with an evening reception. It was as gorgeous and unforgettable as it should have been!
If money wasnt an issue, would you change the type of wedding you had? Money wasn't really an issue, but I still chose to cut costs by making things myself and going for cheaper options. I just don't see the need to spend 20,000-40,000 on one day.
Do you have a wedding picture on display in your home? Yes, but they're both in back rooms that aren't readily accessible to guests. I should probably change that...
