DH and I got invited to a bbq next weekend and there is a pool. We want to take Drake swimming with us. I have heard that 4 months is ok to take a baby in the water, what do you ladies think?
When would you take a baby in the water for the first time?
When did you, at what age?
Oh, and the pool is heated. Its 95 degrees.

He will be fine....I've taken some of mine pretty early too. Little Beth was born in Florida, so she was a water baby from the start. The only thing I've heard is no sunscreen before six months, so that'll be up to you how to deal with that. You'll have to either get some on him or make sure he is covered realy well though.
totally take him swimming!!! the only one that was swimming that early was raianna only because we lived in an apt with a heated pool cause it was still cold out when she was 4months....elyse we had already moved so she didnt get to go swimming til the summer after she was born around 7 months....Helena was about a year old before she could go cause she was born in July so she had a whole year before she could get into a pool LOL

Totally ok! the only thing to think about is that they lose body heat faster than we do, so he might get cold. Just take him out and dry him off if his teeth chatter or his lips turn blue. Otherwise just have fun!!!

Woot!! I am totally going to take him. I am so excited! I have a hat for him that will block the the sun down to his shoulders, so I will use that. Thank you for all your input. ahhhh my phone is going to die. Be back later!
