I know you all are gonna look at me funny....

50 Shades of Grey, a friend gave me the trilogy in ebook form and I transfered it into Kindle format for my kindle app on my iPhone. I just started, I'm about 8 pages into the first book.

Kristy- what is the book about? I am always looking for a good read.

I just finsihed Dancing on Broken Glass by Ka Hancock. It was good. About a couple in their mid 30's who have decided not to have kids, because he is bi-polar and she is a cancer survivor. Then she gets pregnant. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10.

I just bought Room and The Secret Daughter to read.

Literally just finished the last 50 shades of gray book. I hated them at first, the writing is appaling, but just take it for what it is. I quite enjoyed them. Dont see the hype, but i did like it.

Now i am starting The Lady of the Rivers by Philipa Gregory. Its a historical fiction novel about Elizabeth Woodvilles Mother (henry the 8ths great grandmother). She was supposed to have been a witch and she married a knight when she was a lady (scandal!) so i think it will be good. I'm a big philipa gregory fan.

Rachel, I've read both Room and Secret Daughter...both pretty good reads.

I just finished The Book of Negroes (I believe in the US it is published under Somebody Knows My Name). VERY good book. I haven't started another yet.

I really want to read the Corleone Family, its the prequel to the godfather. But its ridiculously expensive and the library dont have it yet.

Van, I hated 50 shades until about 200 pages in. I was only reading it cos i sprang the €9 for it!

So what is everyone reading now? I have started reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire. A friend of mine has been going on and on about it and has seen the play a few times and lent me the book so I can read in and the. Maybe go to the play with her next time.

I am reading Darwins Ghost - On the Origin of Species Updated. I am too lazy to walk upstairs to get the author's name, but it is a great book. The original by Charles Darwin I read in school, but it was sooo victorian in language. This new version is by a geneticist and he tries to stay true to the original in format, but with updated examples of evolution in the genetic code, the AIDS virus and other really fascinating examples.
It makes me feel like I didn't lose all my brainpower after having kids!
