Samantha, have you considered just using condoms for the time being, seeing as you want to ttc soon? You can prevent while the hormones leave your system, so by the time you guys are ready your cycles can be back to normal and you wont have to wait any longer iykwim? I know they say the IUD doesnt mess up fertility or cycles, but if you have a browse on the TTC boards there are lots of ladies who will dispute it! And the pill will def take a while to adjust after.

can you tell i was a ttc nut? lol!

My daughter wakes early no matter when I put her to bed, so I would severely screw everything up if I put her to bed late lol! She was up at 6:30 today ::grumbles::

I need to grocery shop today, yay. It's the little things that excite me.

DH hates condoms, we only used them the first two months of our relationship.
I'm going to go over my options with my Dr Thursday.

I have to catch up on my cleaning today, but the next two days are Football filled so we besides cleaning its a lazy weekend.

We're having pizza and a movie with the kids for lunch. As soon as our DD is back from her race. Bus should be arriving anytime.

Then I'm making Raisin Filled cookies. They're a huge hit at the sale, but I don't care for them much.

ok this challenge is now ended and it looks like Sam made the last comment before midnight on the 12th!!!!

Sam you could try fertility friend...sign up and keep track of your cycle and take your temps....you can see around what day you ovulate every month and avoid sex that week? until you guys are ready to start trying
stresswife and TheOnlyPink like this.

Thats very risky when you are just starting tho kristy. I used it for 18 months ttc harry and it does take about 3 months to see your patterns. Its a wonderful system, but when trying to avoid you would need to be pretty confident and no room for error.

yeah it can be....but in the meantime use condoms until you get the cycle figured out...that way at least the condom thing wont be forever....and they'd be pretty safe right after af is done with for a couple of days at least.....

I tried charting my cycle when I was trying to get pregnant for a second time and I totally failed at it... during the times I thought I would conceive I didn't and then the time I thought there was no way it was that time of the month I did. It may just be me but I think it's pretty risky to rely on it.

I found it pretty easy to get pregnant. I always had a regular cycle though. I was like, period comes here, have sex 2 weeks later, take a test two weeks later, and voila!

How long did it take you guys to get pregnant?

It took me 18 months of ttc to get harry. My cycles were pretty regular, always had clear ovulation in my charts and i got ovulation pain. Had a few tests to confirm there was nothing wrong. I usually O'd on cycle day 17. But the month I got pregnant I O'd on cycle day ten. That had never happened before and that was the month i got pregnant with harry!
Jake was a very wonderful surprise!

with raianna it was probably the first week me and dh ever had sex....she wasn't planned lol so that was easy....

with elyse it took 10 months to get her....and i didnt chart or anything with her i didnt even know about charting at that point

i did start charting before i got pregnant with helena...we weren't trying but i go interested in my cycle (and i must say we were not preventing either but we were done after elyse but we never used ANY form of birth control unless you count pull and pray which doesn't work whatsoever LOL) but yeah the age difference between elyse and helena is 4.5years roughly so yeah thats how long it took me to get knocked up with helena

but back to the charting issue it actually worked for me...for a year or two before i got pregnant with helena i was doing it and avoiding sex around my "ovulation" time it seemed to work well for me...by taking my temp and tracking that every month i was able to pin point when i ovulated and it worked obviously...until the fated morning during ovulation that dh just decided to throw caution to the wind hahaha and along came helena LOL
