I am the only one in this house that can smell something that smells like something died in here...and no I am NOT pregnant!! Anyways where would you look if you smelled a foul stench and cant tell what exactly it is?! My home is clean so I dont even know what it could be but all of today I keep getting a smell of something stank once in awhile.

Closets
Under the couch
Under the fridge
In the drawers of the fridge, maybe something is rotten?
Do you have a garbage disposal? Maybe in there?
Behind book shelves
Under the beds

I hope you find it!

I went through something similar 2 months ago and it was driving me insane! I never did find anything so I know what you mean.

first place I would look is in the kitchen....then under/behind furniture you don't normally move around....

I hate when there is a stench like that in the house that you just cannot find!!! Hope you can find it and get rid of the smell!

I'd also start in the kitchen (unless the smell was stronger somewhere else in the house). In the kitchen I would check the garbage disposal, fridge, dishwasher, and in the cupboards. I'd also check all the trash can's and the bathrooms. Then I would start looking under furniture and in the kids rooms.

I hope you find whatever is causing the smell.

Everyone once in a while we get a funk smell and I have to hunt 'er down! Can't stand it! Sometimes it's just the washer - there is just this tiny bit of water that doesn't drain out and after a few days wooah does it stink! So I run a bleach load to clean it. Sometimes it's the trash can - start of the week I might have put something in there I shouldn't have. Or, someone (IE a KID) accidentally used the recycle bin as the trash can and somethings stinkin in there. Sometimes there is a musky smell and that usually tracks back to the boys' bathroom... someone missed.

I agree with the other ladies, start in the kitchen. Whenever I have a stench it's usually old potatoes under the cabinet. I don't make them a lot and tend to forget about them..lol

I would check under and behind everything.
Also check things that you go near more than everyone else. I had a friend who had the same problem and it turned out to be coming from her favorite sweater.

YES!!! I found that nasty smell...When I was bagging up the laundry to go out someone had put a soaking wet wash cloth full of water in the hamper and it had to have been in there for at least five days because I had not taken laundry in since last week sooo when I was bagging up and moved the thing on top of it I got a whiff of it and almost puked. It was just water but I think maby because it was mixed in with dirty clothes??? All I know is it smelled horrible!!

I hate the way dish rash smell after even one day of use. Even if they are layed out flat to dry, mine always smell. I rarely use dish rags because of it.
