Not sure but if that happened it would cause a very VERY unhappy me.. I really hate last minute company.. My house is never up to company clean standards, specially at a last minute notice.. and I dont usually have "extra" food for company that wasnt planned.. When I shop, I shop for our family only unless we have planned for company.. So yeah, Id be pretty hot if he did that..

I would probably roast DH for doing it

But if I had notice, I would make prosciutto and sage wrapped chicken breast with spinach risotto. With no notice -- lime chipotle shrimp, fresh baguette and arugula salad.

Lasagna with salad and corn. Thats what I usually make when we have company over. It's not the usual greasy stuff and it's really good. everyone who has tried my lasanga has loved it.

If it was last minute, we wouldn't have extra food - I only cook for 3!

This, I cook for 3. So he would be mighty hungry I mean, unless it's a big pot of something? Like chili or pasta sauce or something, then I'd be ok. But everything else, I could for 3.

Probably grilled chicken because we always have chicken. Then a rice or salad as a side dish depending on what's in the house at the time.

Realistically this, I only buy what I need for the 4 of us, and I shop almost daily for the fruit and veg we need (live near some great farms!) so we never have anything over and above what we need.

Um, dh would be grilling steaks or hamburgers if I was given short notice of a boss visit. Luckily, that generally doesn't happen in civil service because of all the rules.
I'd make some honey roasted sweet potatoes and a salad to go with it.

I would make a roast beef with carrots au gratin, mashed potatos, peas, gravey and Yorkshire puddings. I suppose I would need at least a couple hours notice to make that though.

Since it would have to be something fast to cook...Shrimp is always in my freezer so anything wth shrimp from pasta to rice ....or using my pressure cooker to make some Kebsa with lamb. then salad and fried pita bread as a starter.

theres alot of things to make quickly, I am kind of used to things like that happening so I think I would be pretty much prepared.
