how do you take a shower with a child around. my son is two and he is okay to be left watching wiggles while i shower most of the time. i am just worried one of these times he is going to "explore" the kitchen, plugs, or anything else he is not supposed to have.
With Bailey and Josh - almost 4 yrs and 15 months, if I don't shower before the both of them wake up, I wait until Josh goes down for a nap, and then I lock Bailey in our bedroom/master bath with me. She plays on the computer, or talks to me while I shower. She has ALWAYS been very good about not getting into stuff, so I really don't worry about her. Josh on the other hand...
I've got 4 kids, so it all depends, lol. Sometimes I don't get to shower for a couple days!!
When Brian is home, he will watch the kids, or I will wait until the kids are asleep to shower. Their rooms are right there. Also, I take showers with Brielle and sometimes Avery. They sit and play in the water and I shower, lol. I don't do this a lot, only when we all have to be clean and we are in a hurry. Another option is I use the bouncer seat for the baby and put it right in the bathroom and have the other kids play in their rooms and keep an eye on Brielle so she doesn't jump on the beds or something.
Well, for me I had a roommate or someone with me when I took a shower when she was younger but now I will leave the bathroom door open! And talk to her while taking my shower but normally take my shower during one of her favorite shows! Or worse case senerio put on a Baby Einstein movie LOL (she loves them). Our living room is off the bathroom so I can hear her or sort of know what she is up too. If she wants me she comes in the bathroom and opens the shower curtain on me and goes "BOO" LOL. Of course, if I know she is moving and not staying still like I want her too I take 5 minute showers. Alexis is almost 27ms now. She doesn't take naps that often anymore or I would take my showers then!
I put Liam in the shower wtih me. If I didn't, he wouldn't get one! He hates the bathtub. Sometimes Ron showers with him. Sometimes, I get a shower in before Jason leaves for school (he doesn't leave until 8:20) Otherwise, I wait until Chase gets home from school at 2:45 to take a shower. I don't go anywhere those days! lol
I usually get up with DH at 530 am and shower. Otherwise, if I sleep in, I let Olivia watch Dora and I just put up a babygate to the hallway, so she can only go in her room or the bathroom with me. But generally, when Dora is on, she doesnt move..lol
I used to take ashton in the shower wtih me when he was a baby and thought that would make him not scared of it. but it is the opposite. he is freaked out. so he can climb over baby gates and he has never ventured off i'm just worried that he will figure out that mommy cant watch him when she is in the shower. I have taken some of your ideas though and m odified them to fit him. i now take him in the bathroom and he sits on the potty while i shower. i can take a two minute shower so it isnt like he is sitting on there forever. it seems to be working.
Well with 2 16month olds in the house I shower when Jon is home or after they go to bed at night. If I have to go somewhere but cannot take a shower first I do a sponge bath with wipes LOL. I was hoping that as the girls got older Krystle would be able to keep a eye on them while I shower but that hasnt worked out. She just isnt old enough to keep a eye on both of them and make sure they dont get into anything I guess. Either that or she just doesnt want to.
