You knew about morning sickness, expected fatigue, but why haven't you heard about constipation in pregnancy? Believe it or not, constipation is quite common in pregnancy and actually has a physiological cause. Don't fret.

I have severe constipation and have not discovered anything helpful yet. I drink a LOT of water every day, take Metamucil at least once a day, 3 stool softeners at bed time, drink Prune juice & eat prunes; I take pro-biotics and flax seed oil, eat loads of fruit and vegetables and avoid things like cheese. I eat fiber bars daily. I also use suppositories when it gets really, really unbearable. I have only had two "normal" BM's in nearly 8 months. It's ridiculous and frustrating. Anyone have a sure-fire way of getting rid of constipation that I have not already mentioned? Every time I am in my doctor's office, I get a new suggestion. NOTHING has worked.

Looking forward to a cure.

Lisa
