You'd think it would be a given and that everyone would know to never, ever leave their children in hot cars -- but it still happens. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released a report which reveals that hyperthermia (heat stroke) is the leading cause of death in non-crash related vehicle injuries for children.
This is horrible!!! Never leave your children or your pets in the car. A bit off topic but a woman in the chicagoland area left her pug in her car while at a mall for 2 hours in 85+ heat. Doggie didn't stand a chance....was found dead. Criminal charges have been brought against the woman.
