You and your spouse have a dream. You want to start your family. Yet as more time goes by without you becoming pregnant, worry starts to set in. Maybe you’re only being impatient, you tell yourself. Not everybody gets pregnant right off the bat. Maybe you’re just one of those couples that take a bit longer to conceive than others.

There is a statement in this article that is not true and may be misleading...."This is because if you’ve been taking the pill regularly for most of your reproductive years, you need to give it between six months to a year to be sure that all the hormones have cleared your system."
According to two different doctors I have talked with, BCP are out of your system within a day or two. It just takes some women a little longer for their cycles to regulate. Hope this helps someone!

I agree... where did that statement in the article come from??? 6 months to a year? Everything I have read has said the chemicals are out of your system within a few days. Can the author elaborate or explain? If it's true I'm interested to hear about it..

maybe because they're talking about extended use of BCP? I mean, if you go on in your teens and then don't TTC til your late 20s or even early 30s, you've spent MOST of your reproductive life preventing. Could be a build up?

I know the stat on depo is it can take up 18 months to return and 3% of women who have done depo never see fertility return.

Andrea, thanks for the suggestion but that's why it would be good to get clarification, because the author gave no possible explanation for the statement made. I can't speak for all people on BCP but at least in my case I went right back to ovulating 2 after being off BCP, after being on them for 10 years (though I know there are many whose cycles don't regulate as quickly). I'm so curious why the author made that statement.

I was on depo for 3 years. I've been off for a little over a year now and have been ttc since last august. My cycle came back immediately and I'm a little concerned, has anyone else been on depo?

I also recommend the PREGNANCY MIRACLE METHOD to get pregnant quickly and naturally!
