I successfully used castor oil to induce #3 with no ill-effects besides diahreah. I had hospital inductions for #4 & #5, the latter being extremely long and unpleasant. I am booked in for an induction for #6 on my due date (they won't let me go overdue as I am over 40) and am thinking of trying castor oil again. My question is: is there an increased risk of excessive bleeding with this method. I ask because I was told that the gel can cause this and they don't want to use it on me as I have a history of heavy bleeding.
