This article has some false information in it, mainly this part:


"Six of those weeks will be paid maternity leave if work for a company with more than 50 employees and you’ve worked more than 1,250 hours."


That is NOT true. Some states might offer paid leave, as may some companies, but FMLA does not. FMLA only gives you a "right" to 12 weeks of UNPAID leave, if your company meets certain stipulations.

I think it depends on your occupation. As a teacher in NJ I can take up to 12 weeks off over a 24 month period through the NJ Family Leave Act. My job is held and I get paid up to a certain amount based on my salary. I know I can get paid for 6 of those weeks, but I'm not sure about the remaining 6.

Thank goodness I live in Canada, and have a year off. I can't even imagine only having 12 weeks, and then returning to work. That's just insane.

It's kind of different in my country and my company specifically. I am allowed 7 weeks of paid <a href="http://www.BeTheBride.net">Maternity </a>Leave.
