When summer vacation rolls around, many kids start spending more free time playing electronic games, posting on social networks and texting (not to mention watching more TV). More than half are connecting to electronics instead of linking with friends—in person.

In my opinion it is true that some and not all forms of modern technology may hinder the development of a child's social skills.

Yes, electronics can be social, but chatting with someone is not the same thing as having a face-to-face conversation...I think toddlers should have mobile phone only if the situation requires so and have limited access to TV or iPad.
