I used to "play midwife" with my barbies...I would deliver babies all the time from them so from the time I was very very young I have been interested in NCB. In high school I did tons of reports on it because I always thought I wanted to be a midwife (Still would be my ideal job, I just dont want the hours and time away from family it would require)...I guess it's just always been my goal, and even after 20 hours of Pitocin and a horrible transition, I can't imagine having any pain medication...next time I hope it's 100% natural....stupid pre-e/HELLP

Although my ideal childbirth may be out of reach because of where I live, my desire for natural childbirth with as little medical intervention as possible, comes from my educational background.

Through my university education and my interest in health care, I have learned many, many scary things about the public health care system.

I just seem to have more positive feelings towards anything that is a more natural route.
