What is the one thing that you had with any of your births that you absolutely want have again? (ex: epidural, catching your baby, home birth, etc.)

If I end up doing a hospital birth I would want the same L&D nurses.. They were awesome...

From Courtney's birth
I want to go into labor on my own!
From Rock's birth
Uh, I'd like it to be vaginal...otherwise...lol...
From LJ's birth
I want to do it without pain killers

If I get those 3 things all for this birth, that'd be awesome!

I wore my own clothes for most of my labor, ate and drank when I wanted to (I snuck healthy snacks in my suitcase), did yoga during contrx, and listened to music to encourage rhythmic breathing. All of that was perfect for ME, and I would want to do that with any labor.

I agree with the L&D nurses, I don't live in MA, anymore so that's not possible. I wouldn't wait as long to get the epidural this time.

Epidural will definately be happening again. And I liked how Aly's labor was only 7 hours compared to the boys' 15.5 hours and 20 hours so I'd like to do the short labor again LOL

I want to have another VBAC and we may be moving in the next few months so I may end up having to go unassisted.

the best part for me was not having surgery!

Ditto!!

If I had bad nurses, it may not have been as pleasant. My husband even loved the nurses, and brought them a HUGE thing of these fancy cookies as a thanks, which they were grateful for and said ended up being their lunch that day b/c they were soooo busy.

My favorite part was the first nursing session! I won't be having anymore children, but if I did I'd definitely want to plan another homebirth or at least be able to stay at home as long as I did this time (just without the emergency transfer).

I'm curious what poses you did. Did it help by relaxing you or do you think the positions themselves made the contractions less painful (I know that I found some positions more painful than others).

My nurses were so great with my son's birth, and I figured they'd be great again with my daughter. So I baked cookies while I was in labor to give to the nurses to thank them.

Both. The pain relief was primarily from back labor, but a few of the poses did minimize the impact of the contrx in my stomach too. I did:

child's pose
extended puppy pose
cat pose
cow pose
bound angle pose (my fave)

and of course simple pose (which is basically just sitting cross legged)

I actually would choose to have an induced labor if I was ever to be blessed to make it to delivery again. I loved knowing when my second was coming and being able to plan it (only a couple days). He was getting to big for me and I wanted a vaginal birth. I will take the epidural since without it I don't dialate, darn pain gets in the way LOL. So induction with epi and I am all set .

The jacuzzi tub, lol. I almost fell asleep in the darn thing, but I dilated well and the pain was greatly reduced in it.

With ds1, the only thing I liked was meeting my new baby.

With dd the only thing I didn't like was having my mom present.

With ds2, I loved all of it. It was amazing.

I wouldn't mind having a repeat of dd's (minus my mom, we're no longer in contact so that's a non-issue ) short labor. 4 hours in the early morning was nice.
