My son was born at 40weeks 3days after 14 hours of labor. I was given Cervidil to help soften my cervix to get things moving and after 4 hours I was 90% effaced and 3cm (I went in 0cm 0% effaced) I managed crazy back labor for 12 hours before I took an epidural and 2 hours later after Mabey 10 minutes if pushing (6 good pushes was all it took) he was born at 12:31 in the afternoon 😊 I could not have asked for a better labor and delivery. I would go through it all over again! Don't be nervous going in to it. It's hard work but it's manageable. Keep an open mind and know that your only hours away from seeing the best surprise of your life.
24 hours on the DOT. induced 7pm sunday night, she was born 7pm monday night. i would say she was a punctual little thing but i was induced because i was 40w5d (she was born on what would have been 40w6d).
i started pushing about 6:30. i felt the urge to about 5pn, but i thought i had to, er, go #2 and didn't know the need to push felt the same. so i held off until a nurse came in and asked "do you want to push?" and i burst into tears and said i needed to go to the bathroom RIGHT NOW, and she laughed and said "honey, you need to push RIGHT NOW". once they calmed me down, things started happening. i didn't even feel her come out and she was huge!
DD1: 10 (30 minutes pushing)DS1: 2 hours (the first hour and a half for was very slow, thought it would be a long labor, last half hour was really fast and I barely pushed he just came out on his own standing in the hospital room because I didn't make it to the bed)
DD2:6 hours (10 minutes pushing, really easy and not that painful)
DD3: 22 hours + 3 hours pushing (extremely hard and painful, definitely my worst, that's why there isn't a 5th)
My water broke at 36 weeks 6 days but since she was breech they wouldn't induce me. They really pushed for the c-section since they claimed that if labour didn't start on its own within 24 hours, it probably would never start. Almost exactly 48 hours after my water broke, I was in labour! Labour was 28 hours long and was back labour. I pushed for nearly two hours. Lucinda was born butt first and weighed 6 lbs 11.5 oz and was 21 3/8 inches long! She had an apgar of 9 immediately after birth.
