What was the rate of increase of your pitocin? 2mU/20-30min

How high did your Pit ever go? 34mU

How long were you on the Pitocin? roughly 22 hours

Did the Pit ever need to be turned off? Yes, I was probably entering transition but I couldn't take anymore - and I was really afraid my uterus was going to be hyperstimulated, so even though my water had been broken for quite awhile my CNM let me have a 20 min break from the Pit, and it was glorious! Brylie was born about 2 hours after that much needed break

its not sad, Liz! Most of the time pitocin is started at 2mL/U and upped by 2-3 every 20-30 minutes, so depending on how long you were on the pit you could rough guess how high your pitocin went..but if you're progressing well sometimes they will stop upping it and if it gets to be too much, sometimes they will turn it down...lots of variables!

I don't know the exact numbers, but they said they were starting it off at the lowest level. They only upped it once and that was at least 60 to 90 minutes later. It might have even been two hours later....and then I could really really feel it working on me.

I cannot imagine how brutal it would have been if they upped it every 30 minutes!!

I don't know a lot of specifics, but I'll answer the best I can

I was contracting and had started dilating on my own, but from 11pm-8am I only went from 2 to 4cm . They broke my water and that didn't help, so they put me on the very lowest dose and had me sit on the birthing ball

How long were you on the Pitocin? I think it was early to mid afternoon when I started and DS was born at 6:40pm that day

Did the Pit ever need to be turned off? I don't remember anyone saying they turned it off, they also never turned it up, the lightest amount was plenty for me to get things going
