This is my third child but my first was 5 years ago and my second was induced so I never had contractions.

I'm 36 weeks 4 days right now. I started contractions monday night. I had a hard time sleeping in general so I felt every one. They came irregular (8 min, then 20 min, then 12min, then 30 min etc..) and were short and weren't too painful. By tuesday they were still there but with longer intervals in between and less painful so that I could walk around and do what I was doing without anyone knowing I felt anything. The rest of tuesday I didn't really feel much, except one small one every few hours.

Wednesday late morning I started getting stronger contractions, they hurt and at one point I had to stop what I was doing while it went on. I wasn't able to time them but they were long lasting and close together. Shortly after I got home, they slowed a bit. I laid down to time them better and didn't have one for almost 30 minutes but then had a few very close together (less than 8 minutes) and then didn't have one for 20 min and then a bunch like 5 minutes together but then they stopped for 20-30 minutes. A little while later they were lighter again. I could feel them but they weren't really painful. I felt three overnight last night but I might have not felt htem while I was sleeping right?

This morning I just started noticing them less than an hour ago. Some are so painful I hold my belly and back and stop doing what I'm doing and sometimes it's not too bad.

I looked up difference but I'm not sure:

False Labour Signs:

Contractions are irregular - true
do not get closer together - depends. They get closer together and then it waits a bit and then it does it again
change with movement - not true. They hurt when I sit, lay down or walk. About the same the whole time.
may alternate strength - true, some are strong, some are not
felt in front only - not true, I feel it in my back too.

I've got pressure too but I always have that. Haven't lost my mucous plug. Thought I was leaking fluids the other day but I'm pretty sure it's just urine. Pantiliner smells like ammonia and I was a bit incontinent before. I can feel it leaking out of me, whatever it is. I have a bit of loose bowels but I'm lactose intolleranct and had 2 slices of icecream pie the other day.

The thing is, I'm going to be having a scheduled c-section so if this is real labour, I don't want to wait too long so that they won't have time to do spinal. I don't want to have emergency c-section with general anesthesia. But I don't want to bother someone to take me to triage to see if they are real contractions. I feel like I should know as a third time mom.

It sounds like maybe prodomal labor. That is false labor but it feels real and it can last for a long time. Mine lasted for 8 days until I went into labor. If they are getting painful then I would call your Doctor and see what he/she says.

Thanks. They ended up stopping for a day or two and the last two days I've had between 2-10 total and they are barely noticable. I guess I just didn't know that Braxton Hicks could be so painful sometimes.
