Well, over a year ago I gave birth to my first child. I was a week and a half over due, 75% effaced, but dialted NONE. My doctor refused to induce me b/c i hadn't had children before. I went in on June 1 at like 7:30 a.m., got to my room at 8:30 a.m. they put the pill in my cervix and started my pictocin at 12 noon. I was 7 cm when I decided to do the peidural...by the time they got it in I was a 9. Pushed for about 45 min and then.....By 3:11 p.m. I gave birth to a 9 lbs. 0 oz. 22 1/2 in long beautiful baby boy!!! My husband didn't get to cut the cord b/c Phoenix wasn't breathing just like they wanted him too. That was a bit nerve racking.
I nursed him for 13 months.....almost exclusively, I was very proud of myself, considering the fact that the first month was sheer PAIN!! It was worth it though!
I just thought I would share with you guys! Hope it wasn't TMI.
It def. seems like yesterday I was holding a baby who couldn't do anything...now he's walking, talking, and won't sit still long enough for anything. I really miss my little baby boy. I love that he's growing up, but I miss those days. I understand now why people say to enjoy the time while you have it, b/c it flies....oh boy does it ever.
I think I could have done it natrually if it weren't for the epidural.
