Tell us where do you want your baby to be born? Or if you are planning on having more children how do you want them to be born?

I never had a homebirth but I know it must be a wonderful experience! I'm so happy for you ladies I want a home birth but checked hospital because I had complications with Isaac and my insurance doesn't cover me having a midwife and homebirth. But I'm hoping to have a natural birth without pain medication.

I am sure we will have another UC but with some close friends helping us out. I don't want Matthew to be the only one working for me. And I need that female companionship.
I may or may not deliver in water. I tried last time but ended up in the floor by my bed.

Ive had one hospital and one homebirth and would never walk in a hospital while pg again unless me or the child are dying (or in danger of dying).
So hospital again for me, regardless of its legality. My Insurance also doesnt cover homebirth with midwives, but I don't think they should dictate it and aside from that - hte out of pocket for me to birth in a hospital is the same as my full payment to birth at home.

For my next one, I would love to have a home water birth with a midwife. I could never go unassisted..I need someone to tell me what to do and what not to do and give me encouragement.
But in reality I doubt I will ever have a homebirth. I'd love to, but I live in a small town, very non-progressive. Homebirths are unheard of here and I don't even know of a midwife that lives closer than an hour away and those midwives are affiliated with the hospital and I don't know if they would even do a homebirth.
I just recently learned that it's now against policy for a midwife to deliver VBAC births, even in the hospital. So if that's the case, I highly doubt I could find one to come to my home. But I haven't researched it or anything so ya never know.
But we'll see what my options are when the time comes.....honestly as long as I get to have another VBAC, that's fine with me no matter where it's at.

I am planning to VBAC in a hospital. If I could I would have a homebirth but a midwife is hard to come by in North Louisiana. There may be some options opening up here soon though. I have secondary Medicaid and it states that midwives are covered but I'm not sure to what extent (my health insurance only covers one in a hospital setting). I'm continuing to research my options though. I live close to a hospital but not the one I'll be delivering in. I do plan to use a doula and stay at home as long as possible. My biggest fear right now is that I won't go into labor on my own before the "set date". I keep having dreams that I'm heading to the hospital for a C-section trying everything possible to get myself to go into labor.

It will be okay! Let that all go and just trust your body and your baby.

I am very shocked that homebirth has more hits on the poll! I think that is a first ever high for homebirth here on this part of JM! Wow!

My first was a natural birth in a hospital, and I'll be doing that again. We do not have a birth center near me, and no midwives who are licensed to do home births. However, the hospital here works closely with my group of midwives and is completely pro-natural childdbirth, so I'm very confident that I will again get the birth I want!
