Ooh, my
MIL is notorious for this kind of thing! Of course, the thought being what counted is by far the most important factor, and she always managed to find very odd (but with the right intentions) gifts.
Our favorite year was when we all opened presents at my
SIL's the year before
DH and I were married. My
MIL sent the presents (she lives in Phoenix) so we could open them altogether. The best of the worst:
SIL got a topsy-tail,
DH got a picture (not in a frame) of him and his parents at his high school graduation, and I got a dollar store plastic horse. I remember my
SIL and
DH were so mad because she got my
BIL a DVD that he really wanted. She really wanted to get everyone as many gifts as possible, but he insisted that she didn't have to do that and he got one 'big' gift. Oh, it was SO FUNNY!
