What a freaking nightmare! Thank GOD she only puked once but GROSS............ just taking the flipping cover off the seat took me a good 20 minutes, Gareth said from now for long car trips we will be putting a pocket bib on her over her straps LMAO! What is the worst though is trying to clean the straps and such that you cannot get off the seat! I washed with dawn and a wet cloth then also doused them with vinegar

I'm sorry. Poor baby!

Yeah, I'd just throw the cover in the wash. I wash the girls' covers once a month or so. For the straps...yup, I'd use vinegar too.

Hope she's feeling better.

Agreed! It has to be one of the worst things ever. It was so hard to get the puke smell out of all the little cracks and crevices, too!

Oy yuck! Cleaning puke off of anything is enough to make me gag right now! You still think it was just car sick?

You shouldn't use anything but a small amount of water with the straps, never cleaners, chemicals or submerge them in water. I would call the car seat manufacturer and see if they would send you a new harness.

charlotte has pretty bad car sick and we travel alot! including 40 min each way every day to daycare, so we have a puke incident at least twice a month and it SUCKS!!!! i hate it, she hates it and it never gets any easier to clean the car seat.

Probably not every time, probably just once. You can buy a new harness from them and most of the time they are pretty cheap ($10-$15).
