Does your LO have any fears lately?
Kylie use to be pretty fearless for the most part, but for the past month or so her new favorite word is "scary". All of the sudden, many things that never bothered her before are now "scary"- the dark, the dog barking, a loud noise.
I'm pretty sure it's just a phase and usually the result of something startling her. I try not to play into any of it, I just explain to her. "Yes, the sun has gone away and now it is dark for the night", or "the doggie barks because that is how she talks". I'm thinking she'll get over it pretty quick as she continues to make sense of it all

Marissa is terrified of people making cow noises. Shes gotten a bit better about her toy cows, she used to hide them, throw them in the trash or move them really far away from the other animals (she has cow magnets/shape sorter thing/ little people etc) I don't know why they scare her so much, but it's been going on for about 6 months at least. Cow noises on the iPad scare her too.
She's also recently started to get scared when king barks at the door. She hides her face in her hands and cries when he does it, not sure why though bc she's never seemed to care before.
And The blender. I ca usually get her to calm down by having her push the button (it's just a littl single serve thing I make her smoothies in) but almost every time I use it, she freaks out a bit.

LMAO Nate walks around saying, "YOU SCARED ME!" because one morning he busted open the bathroom door (after escaping his crib) and I screamed YOU SCARED ME! So now everything 'scares' him!

Jack is my wild child...nothing scares him, yet anyways. He even loves when I turn on the blender.

Yikes! Today the dark has become even more scary to Kylie. Obviously this doesn't happen til the evening, but Kylie tries to go into a room and it's dark. She comes out crying, "Scary! Dark!" She has always been so independent and never had trouble being alone in a room so I really hope this is just a phase.
Knock on wood, I hope this fear of the dark doesn't extend to bedtime!

DH was watching transformers last night when Kylie and I got home from my job. It was near Kylies bedtime so he didn't bother changing it, but as I was getting her ready for bed, she was glued to the TV and kept saying "scary! What's that?" every time a transformer was on the tv. I told DH that he was going to get up with her in the middle of the night if it gave her bad dreams

So far, I don't think anything scares her (that I know of).

Lauren is scared of all the stuffed animals in this picture plus a rock n roll elmo. All things that she previously LOVED and couldn't get enough of. I am talking completely freaked out, screaming and either running away the opposite direction in fear or will just stand there completely paralyzed with fear. They are currently "sleeping" in the guest bedroom which is right beside the laundry room. Anytime she goes to the laundry room with me she points to the bedroom door and whispers "Shhhhh! Pooh, Mickey, and Elmo night night" and then runs into the laundry room like she is afraid they are going to open the door and grab her.

Oh no -- poor kiddos! Jace hasn't developed any fears yet. In some ways I wish he would because he does a lot of things that scare me (like jumping on the bed, standing on his ride-on toys, etc.). We have all these animal masks that would probably scare most 2 year olds but Jace loves it when we put them on and pretend to be a Lion or a Monkey or a Bear, etc. He even loved them when he was much much younger...

^^ Michelle I am with ya! I wish Archer would learn to fear some things because right now he is fearless and climbs up on tall things then just jumps off. The worst is when I caught him standing up on the couch, then just putting his arms out getting a big grin on his face and falling backward without even bothering to bend so he'd fall on his butt first.... just stiff as a board. Lucky for him he happens to fall on the actual couch since he never looks behind him first. I stop him when I see it of course, but he is ALWAYS doing something.
Perrin was afraid of a few things when he was this young. Random toys would set him off and we actually kept them in the office. They served the purpose of making sure he wouldn't go in there even if we forgot to shut the door lol. Also if we wanted him to follow out of a room we'd just shut the light off but Archer just stands there in the dark without a care.

Her quad my parents got her for Christmas, unless it's turned off. She loved it at first. . . Until she pushed the button while she was standing in front of it xD Super bummed that she isn't a fan of it any more, but holding out hope that soon she'll like it again! She's also afraid of strangers - Or anybody who she doesn't see regularly. She was unsure of my in laws when we visited, because she hardly sees and talks to them. But she was fine around my parents & brother and his wife, because we Skype and talk often.
