Sorry it has taken so long to post this but I have been so busy with visiting Brendan in the NICU and trying to catch up on homework.
My dh and I were getting ready to go to bed the night of the 8th, when one thing led to another and we ended up dtd. No, big deal, right? Well afterwards I ended up having contractions, which normally happens. But this time I had a ton of pressure and something didn't feel right. I laid down for about an hour and downed like 2 bottles of water and they still didn't slow down. So we decided to head to L&D. Better to be safe than sorry. When we showed up to L&D even the nurse didn't think it was going to be a big deal and thought I was probably only going to be a couple of cm because I was only 34 wks. Come to find out, I was already dialated to 7cm when I got there. At that point there wasn't much they could do to stop the labor. The labor went relatively quickly and smoothly. I only had to push about 4 times and I have no tears or rips. Brendan James was born at 10:13 am on July 9th, weighing 6 lbs 3 oz and he was 19 in long.
Brendan was transferred to a hospital in Reno to be in the NICU due to premature lungs. I was discharged that night about 8 pm so that I could be with my baby. We have been there ever since and are just waiting to get home. Here are some pictures of my little guy. He was just a few hours old.
