Me and Dh were going to stay with his parents on Friday (the 14th) because we were going to a family wedding on saturday and my EDD was approaching and i was delivering at the hospital by their house. (We live and hour and half from the hospital) Well good thing we did. Friday night was like any normal night, I went to bed at 11:30 pm and at 3 am i woke up very uncomfortable and went in laid in another bed in the house that was more comfortable. when i laid down i had a pain in my belly but i figured i had just laid down to quick and pulled something. i didn't know what a "real" contraction felt like since i got induced with my son and had the epi from the beginning. well it had happened again, so i was like this had to be contractions. i had 2 or 3 more and tried to wake DH but he wouldnt wake up because he had drank that night with some family members and didnt go to bed till 1:30 am. so to say the least when we went to the hospital he wasnt comepletely sober yet! DH doesnt drink very often, so what perfect timing. yeah right!! well i could'nt get him up so i went and woke up MIL and she got up with me and woke DH up. we decided to go ahead and go to the hospital i had maybe at the most 10 contractions between the time i woke up and the time i got in the room hooked up. we got the hospital and the brought me to triage and the nurse asked me when the last time i got checked was. i told her it was last wednesday ( 3 days before) and i was 2 cm. well she checked me and said i was 5 cm and we were having a baby!! i was so suprised i was already 5cm. i told her i wanted an epi and they huried up and got my platelet count so i could get an epi. well i have a low pain tolerence and i was really needing that epi. she then told me honestly, i dont think your gonna have time to get an epi, your moving pretty fast!! i was pissed by then because i was in a lot of pain and daphne was laying suny side up, so my back labor was not fun to say the least.about 2 hours after we get the hospital, i was 9 cm. and she said if we can move your cervix around the babys head we can have this baby pretty fast! well since i was in so much pain i was fighting it pretty bad. and dragged it on for another 2 hours. well i started feeling the need to push and the new nurse was on duty. she came in there and was helping trying to break my water. it was bulging pretty bad well i decided i really needed to push so i started pushing but not as hard as i probably could have. well my water broke and by then i was breaking down crying saying i couldnt do this and completely fighting it. the nurse told me i really needed to push. so i started pushing. i only pushed maybe 3 times and all of sudden her whole body came out. the doctor didnt have time to get there so the nurse delivered her. Daphne jayne was born at 7:32 am all natural. not by choice, but i wouldnt have it any other way. it was quite an expeirence.
