It's not in my siggy anywhere so I just wanted to say Hi from one military wife to another. DH is in the Army. If you ever have any tricare questions about infertility and endometriosis treatments and tests just let me know.

Thank you! I'm glad to know someone has had to deal with the tricare run around and all that before. Right now I'm waiting for an auth to be seen offbase by an OBGYN, since we have none offbase. Of course, to get said referral they want to see me again first, and can't do that till the 20th! AGH! Oh well....

I'm pretty sure since we've been TTC a year now we qualify for fertility treatments, finally. I think?

Has tricare been good with you guys and the endo, or have you had to battle them for the auths and stuff? I'm worried about that.

They started my testing after 6 months since I had already had a lap and a diagnosis of endometriosis. I was also lucky in the fact that my PCM knew my history and I just had to call and leave a message with her nurse and she put in the referrals without me seeing her. So far things have been good. They will cover all testing (blood work, ultrasounds, post coital) and surgeries. If you need any medications they will cover that (pill or injection). The only catch is that they won't pay for any of that if you aren't doing things the natural way. I've also heard that if you have IUI or IVF and get pregnant they won't pay for any of your medical care BUT I don't know how true that is. The only problem we've had so far is for DH's semen analysis. We're at war with them right now trying to get them to pay for it. They wanted us to drive about 5 hours one way to the major military hospital (the one all the soldiers hurt in Iraq and afghanistan go to) on the other side of Germany for the test. On top of that they would not pay TDY which meant we would have to buy our gas on the economy at about 7 dollars a gallon so we just had it done here.

The most annoying part of the whole thing is they will only give you a referral for 3 appointments at a time. I had 6 in one month doing the monitored cycle.

Oh wow.... Sounds like a mixed blessing w/ tricare. Great they cover some things, but not others.

So, they'll pay for endo treatments as long as I'm not on fertility meds? Did I understand that right?

This is going to be tough, I have a feeling.... I was scheduled to go in for my annual on aug 20, and think I need to make a whole 'nother appointment just to ask my questions and make sure I get my referrals right.

They will pay for everything up until you get to the point that you have to try IUI or IVF fertility meds included.
