So....before we left overseas and the cold and snow I was bragging to anyone who would listen that I was going back to Alabama. Sunshine, warmth, temps in the 50's, and it NEVER snows. The first few weeks home it didn't get above freezing. Now for the first time in 17 years it's snowing. I don't mean a light dusting, I mean SNOW. It's been going steady for 6 hours now. About 6-7 inches and isn't expected to let up until around 7 pm. This is all my fault. Let's hope it doesn't keep dropping around an inch an hour or we'll be buried by the time it stops. Alabama people don't know how to drive in snow. Schools, government offices, roads everything is closed. It's like Night of the Living Dead out there. Everynow and then you'll see somebody totally bundled up waddling by. The only part I'm enjoying is the squeals from all the munchkins who have never seen snow before. As soon as DH gets home (they sent all military home) we're going to a friend's and I get to play with an 11 month old who's never seen snow.

haha that's FUNNY and WEIRD. It's like this year, everywhere where there is never snow, we're getting it. It never/rarely snows here and this year we've had "tons" - well enough to slow/stop public transportation and have snowball fights!

Yeah, I can't believe how much snow the south is getting right now, and how much we've had. We have 26.5 inches on the ground as of yesterday, with another 2 inches this morning, and I'm tired of looking at it!!!

It's usually that way here. Not the 70's but upper 50's lower 60's. Not only was it the first time in 17years that it snowed, it's the first time since 1973 that there's been this much.
