I am so done with Lupron shots from here-on out! I just got my 5th injection done on the 22nd. A couple hours after I had broken out in hives along the left side of my body, from my face to my hip where the shot was given. I took a Benadryl and I was fine. Later that night my chest was hurting underneath my left breast, but it didn't last long, so I ignored it. Well, it's happened a couple times since, and *** does it hurt! I am so sick of all the side effects with no improvement, and the point of Lupron was to see improvement in the endo! Ughhh. Thanks for letting me vent.

Vent away. I'm sorry you're having such a crappy time with the Lupron. I know a lot of women have had horrible problems with it. Did you ask your doctor if the chest pains were "normal"?

OMG! I think we are on the same schedule. I got my 5th shot on the 17th. I have not had chest pains or hives... but I am telling you I could live the rest of my life without a hot flash! I have been wearing my hair up every day because I have one at least every 30 min and my forehead drips sweat!

I did have my dr check my thyroid. Which is now hyper (it was a little hypo before) and she asked me if I was having hear palpitations. I haven't had any, but maybe thats whats going on with you?

I so don't want to get my 6th shot... but I am going to finish out the treatment cycle.

Have you been taking calcium? My dr didn't tell me to! But I see someone else for fertility and she said it is very important.

Anyways... that was a bit of a rant.

I actually had some kind of thyroid test done over a year ago before my first lap that hinted at hyperthyroidism, which helped explain why I'm 5' 10" and I cannot get my weight over 130 for my life. So I probably do have it, I just didn't know heart palpitations had anything to do with it. I don't take calcium, because I was never told to, but now that you mention it I'm going to buy some with my next check as well as those soy thingies Paige mentioned in another post. Wal-Mart has them for around six bucks!

You are a lucky girl not to have to worry about your weight! It might be your thyroid being especially hyper because of the lupron. I am getting mine checked again when I get my last shot. May be a good idea to have yours checked.

My fertility doc said lupron can have a big affect on your bones. Depletes the calcium and makes your bones brittle. Wish my other doc would have given me all the info! I started taking calcium and extra vitamin D the same day I talked to her.
