Hi everyone.

I am mostly a lurker on this forum and pop in every once in a while to respond. I figure now is the time to introduce myself. My name is Lauren, I'm 21, and have an almost 3 year old son. I am pregnant with my second, a girl -- and due in October. I've had stage 4 endometriosis for many years and have done the traditional Lupron, BCP's, and laser surgeries to correct the problem, but it always comes back. Pregnancy has been the only thing ever to give me any relief. I had 2 years of relief after giving birth to my son. It was amazing!

Anyway...

Has anyone heard anything about premature labor being associated with endometriosis? My doctors are baffled as to why I had premature labor with my son @ 28 weeks and delivered at 30 weeks. I started having contractions at 14 weeks with this one and am on moderate bed rest. I will be on strict bed rest soon -- I am sure.

A doctor mentioned to me a connection with endo (possibly weaker and more irritable tissue) and my preterm labor issues. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard this???

Im not sure of it. But it would sure explain why at 26w I started leaking amniotic fluid with my son and was put on strict bedrest.

I have never heard that either but I did have preterm labor issues with every one of my kids. I was only put on bedrest and medication with one of them (11 weeks), but early contractions and irritable cervix with the others.

I've never heard of it either but I guess it would make sense if you had a good amount of endo on or near your uterus?

I have endo inside and outside my uterus, as well as on other organs - bowels, appendix, etc. I'm already in preterm labor with this little one and I am only 20 weeks on Tuesday.
