I've had some light spotting mid-cycle before, but this month it's gone on for almost 2 weeks. Very light, usually I just see pinkish mixed with CM when I use the bathroom, but some days it shows on a pad. My sister also has endo, and she said she bled mid cycle with fibroids years ago, and it just got worse and worse until she was bleeding pretty much non-stop. I don't want to go there! I've also been having more pain than I typically have during this time in my cycle. I hate to think it's getting worse, I REALLY don't want to do a lap. I'm just wondering if this is a sign of something that could make it harder to conceive. We've been trying for another baby for the last 10 months, so far nothing but a early MC back in May. Any advice with mid-cycle spotting (and when I should talk to my Doc about it - which I hate) would be appreciated!

I get a lot of spotting throughout my cycle, but spotting for 2 straight weeks is not normal. Do you have pain with it? I would recommend getting it checked out. Laps really aren't that bad. I had my first lap on a Thursday and I was back to work on Monday (and felt fine by Friday afternoon). It was well worth getting a diagnosis and begin treating it. Endo can only be diagnosed by a lap, but I think for the most part, fibroids and other growths can be diagnosed on an ultrasound. So I would have the doctor rule out all other things on an ultrasound before going ahead with a lap. But don't worry about having a lap done, it's really nothing exciting. Good luck

i would also go see the doc. he can do an US to rule out fibroids. also mid cycle spotting could also be a sign of your hormones being unbalanced. safer to just let him check you out.

if you do go to your doc please let us know what he says.

Thanks so much, all of you! I guess I'm just afriad of what the doctor will find, but you're right. I don't have insurance so it may have to wait until next month, but I'll let you know what we find out.

Good luck!

If the doctor doesn't find an underlying cause, I'd recommend trying red raspberry leaf. It comes in pill form or as a tea. It strengthens the uterus, which can get rid of some of the spotting. It has helped me a lot. It takes a couple of months of using before noticing a big difference, but it is worth it.
